Essential Tasks Previous experience playing or coaching the applicable sport Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the sport to be coached Strong leadership qualities Excellent interpersonal skills Communication skills Team working skills Ability to teach relevant skills, tactics, and techniques Monitor performance and provide constructive feedback to individuals and the team Perform some administrative tasks regarding organization and team information distribution Perform related work as required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The coach is responsible for organizing out‑of‑season workouts, tryouts, and season practices. The coach collaborates with the administration and athletic director regarding all scheduling that impacts the sport. The coaching staff is expected to work diligently to field athletic teams with student‑athletes that represent BCPS with quality players who show strong character daily. Coaches must maintain professionalism while representing BCPS and work closely with athletic directors and administration to resolve any issues. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED. A comparable amount of training and experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications. Physical Requirements Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
