Special Education Para Professional in Bear, DE

Job Description

This engaging opportunity is perfect for an experienced paraprofessional ready to make a meaningful impact in a school environment. Serving in a leave replacement role, you will support students and staff through dedicated onsite service at a high school. Your experience as a Paraeducator will be invaluable as you foster a supportive learning environment and help ensure continuity for both classroom instruction and student development.

Key Qualifications:

Must possess a valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit (required upon application, pending permits not accepted)
Previous experience working as a paraprofessional in a school setting preferred
Ability to provide direct classroom support to students and instructional staff
Comfortable working onsite in a dynamic, team-oriented high school environment
Candidates with RBT certification are welcome, though RBT roles or supervision are not provided and the position is classified strictly as a paraprofessional
All candidates must be willing to complete an $85 criminal background check/fingerprinting as part of onboarding

Responsibilities:

Deliver individualized and small group support under direction of certified teachers
Assist students with academic and behavioral objectives
Adapt materials and activities to meet varying student needs
Monitor and record student progress and behaviors as required
Support classroom routines, supervision, and safe learning environments
Collaborate with educational staff for optimal student outcomes

This contract position is needed as soon as possible and runs until September 21, 2026, offering a set schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
