Social Work/Counselor III- Clinical Group Facilitator COT

Position Overview Social Work/Counselor III – Colorado Mental Health Hospital in Pueblo (CMHHIP). This recruitment is open only to current Colorado residents. The posting may be used to fill multiple vacancies. Work Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Location : 1600 W. 24th Street, Pueblo, CO 81003. Responsibilities Clinical Treatment & Group Facilitation Act as primary therapist or co‑facilitator for individual and group sessions using therapeutic methods tailored to each patient. Lead groups on‑unit, across campus, or off‑site with safe transportation for patients. Assess patient needs, identify strengths and obstacles, and provide education on mental‑health, symptom management, and relapse prevention. Develop a trusting rapport to encourage active participation in recovery. Keep accurate records of sessions, track outcomes, and adjust goals based on progress. Apply advanced clinical experience and licensure to guide complex cases. Unit Strategy & Collaboration Partner with multidisciplinary unit team to recommend therapy groups best fitting the current patient population. Participate in individual patient care meetings to suggest targeted treatments. Professional Development & Consultation Provide clinical consultation and training to staff to improve overall care quality. Attend workshops, staff meetings, and required training to maintain licensure and skills. Maintain understanding of hospital processes and case assignments to ensure smooth operation. Other Duties Perform additional tasks as needed to support the team and patient care. Qualifications Current, valid Colorado or state licensure participating in the Social Work Licensure Compact as: LSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LAC. One (1) year of experience with valid licensure in the state corresponding to assigned work. Preferred Qualifications 1+ years of facilitating psychotherapy/psychoeducation groups. 1+ years working in a locked or high‑acuity unit. 1+ years working with a forensic population. Experience adapting clinical materials for diverse cultural, religious, and literacy levels. State employee experience considered. Conditions of Employment Pre‑employment criminal background check; felony or related convictions may disqualify. Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license. Must not initiate or engage in any personal relationship with patients. Successful completion of CMHHIP new employee orientation, including English reading and defensive tactics competency. Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, standing, and defensive tactics; see detailed responsibilities. Annual influenza vaccination, 2‑step TB screening mandatory.
