Overtime as neededLocation: 3510 Capital City Blvd Lansing, MI 48906Why Work at Peckham - PeckhamThe Food Services Prep III is responsible for assisting with catering services, daily café operations, food preparation, customer services, staff support, and compliance with all food safety and health regulations. This role combines leadership, food productions, customer services, and operational responsibilities to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for team members and customers.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide friendly and professional customer servicesAssist with café and catering operations, including food preparation, order fulfillment, delivery, and service for internal and external customers.Set up, stock, and maintain café service areas and catering supplies, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper inventory rotation (FIFO).Receive deliveries, monitor inventory levels, and assist with menu planning, food production forecasting, and ordering activitiesMaintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, health, and regulatory requirements, including temperature monitoring, proper storage procedures, and applicable ServSafe certification standardsPerform cashiering, opening and closing procedures, and other daily operational tasks as assignedMaintain clean workspaces, equipment, and service areas; perform routine equipment care and report maintenance concernsProvide guidance and operational support to team members and serve as acting lead during supervisor or manager absences when designatedOther related duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsMust be at least 18 years oldServSafe Manager CertificationKnowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health code requirementsAbility to safely operate food service equipment, such as ovens, flat tops, and stovesStrong organizational and time-management skillsExceptional customer service to interact with a wide variety of customersMust be able to communicate effectivelyAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentAbility to lift, carry, an move food products and suppliesPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in food service, café operations, catering, or hospitalityPrior supervisory experiencePhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
