Mechanical Assembler

JOB REQUIREMENTS JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Components Assembler I is responsible for assembling beamline components for custom-made ion beam accelerator systems. Prepare work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Custom assembly of vacuum beam line components adhering to a specified set of blueprints. Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, alignment, fastening parts and subassemblies either manually or with hoists. Verify the correct quantities of parts and ensure they are free of flaws, defects, or imperfections. Conduct vacuum leak checking to determine the air-tight integrity of a machine using the right tools and the proper knowledge. Perform system testing by checking input/output of all parts, verifying correct operations of devices and systems. Collaborate with team members, engineers, and manufacturing staff to ensure consistency and troubleshoot any technical issues. Document assembly processes, including recording serial numbers of components used, problems encountered, and solutions applied, to maintain accurate production records. Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer expectations. Follow vacuum cleaning processes and policies. Prepare parts for sandblasting and sandblast parts. Clean and maintain work area and equipment, including tools. Perform ultrasonic cleaning to remove tightly adhered contaminants such as dust, dirt, oil, grease, and fingerprints from intricate items with cracks, blind holes, and recesses. On occasion perform, manufacturing processes, spot-welding of small parts. OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in mechanical engineering preferred. 1 to 2 years of mechanical assembly experience required. High attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Mechanical and technical skills. Focus on quality control. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Ability to read and interpret complex instructions and blueprints as required.
