We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations in Maspeth, New York. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage high-volume transactional work accurately while keeping records organized and up to date. The person in this role will contribute to both payables and receivables processes and help maintain reliable accounting data across core systems.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor bills and customer transactions with accuracy, ensuring records are entered correctly and completed on schedule.
• Maintain accounts payable activities by reviewing invoices, verifying supporting details, and preparing items for timely payment.
• Support accounts receivable operations by recording incoming payments, tracking outstanding balances, and helping resolve billing issues.
• Enter financial information into QuickBooks and related tools to keep accounting files complete and current.
• Perform data entry for accounting documents, payment records, and transaction updates while checking for discrepancies.
• Assist with invoice processing by matching documentation, organizing approvals, and following established procedures.
• Reconcile routine account activity and investigate variances to help preserve accurate financial reporting.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external contacts to clarify payment questions and obtain missing documentation.• Experience handling accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks in an accounting or bookkeeping environment.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks for entering transactions and maintaining financial records.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Background in invoice processing, including review, coding, and document matching.
• Ability to manage multiple accounting tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills for addressing billing and payment-related questions.
• Proficiency with standard office and accounting software used for transactional processing.
