Operations Specialist Full Time Clerical Kansas City, MO, US 5 days ago Requisition ID: 1020 The Operations Specialist is responsible for executing and supporting a wide range of back-office deposit functions to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance of daily banking operations. Key responsibilities include exception item processing, ACH and wire transfers, dispute handling, fraud monitoring, GL reconciliations, and administration of electronic banking services. This role also supports CIP compliance, IRA servicing, and legal processing, while acting as a subject matter expert and resource for internal teams. Success in this role requires a strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Exception item processing, including but not limited to: returns, chargebacks, adjustments, NSF/payment decisions, and unposted items. Administer all back-office deposit processes, including but not limited to: ACH, debit card, remote deposit capture, positive pay, and online banking support. Post (verify and input) domestic and international wire transfers to ensure timely and accurate funds movement. Handle dispute processing for debit card transactions, ACH transactions, and checks in compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., Reg E, NACHA rules, UCC). Monitor deposit activity for potential fraud or unusual activity and escalat e as necessary. Reconcile GL accounts and internal bank deposit accounts to ensure accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies. Oversee Customer Identification Program (CIP) compliance, IRA administration, research and adjustment services, deposit account collections, and legal processing. Required to be a subject matter expert and resource to the department as well as other departments within the Bank. Ability to provide guidance and direction to team members. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: 1+ years in banking operations with a focus on deposit services and related back-office functions. Requires strict attention to detail and thoroughness in the completion of job duties. Requires use of critical thinking, logic, and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing data, files, and records, designing forms, and other office procedures. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing prioritieswith professionalism. Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizationallevels. Good judgment and the ability to make timely, sound decisions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on acomputer. Must be able to lift fifteen (15) pounds occasionally.
