The Project Architect leads complex architectural projects with a focus on healthcare facilities and building envelope/enclosure design. This role combines design excellence, project management, construction administration, and client-facing responsibilities, while leveraging Revit and collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, well-coordinated projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural projects from concept through construction, ensuring design quality, technical accuracy, and adherence to project requirements.
• Manage project schedules, deliverables, and coordination activities as a Project Architect and Project Manager, maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
• Oversee construction administration tasks, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and participating in site visits as needed.
• Develop and refine design solutions for healthcare projects and building envelope/enclosure systems, ensuring functionality, safety, and aesthetic quality.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate detailed construction documents and drawings in Revit, maintaining consistency and accuracy across project files.
• Participate in client meetings, present design concepts, and respond to client feedback in a professional and timely manner.
• Support business development and networking efforts by building strong client relationships and representing the firm at industry events and meetings.
• Collaborate closely with internal project teams, consultants, and contractors to resolve design and coordination issues throughout all phases of a project.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices in healthcare design and building envelope performance.
• Contribute to a positive team culture by sharing knowledge, mentoring junior staff, and supporting continuous improvement in project delivery.

Essential Skills

• At least 8 years of experience in the architecture field, with progressively responsible project roles.
• Strong proficiency in Revit for design, documentation, and coordination of architectural projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing projects, including project planning, coordination, and oversight of deliverables.
• Hands-on construction administration experience, including submittal review, RFIs, and field coordination.
• Extensive background in healthcare projects and/or building envelope/enclosure design.
• Proven client-facing experience, including participation in client meetings and presentations.
• Experience with networking and business development activities in a professional services environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a closely related field.
• Registered Architect credential is highly valued; registration is a plus but not required.

• Experience in a project architect (PA) and project manager (PM) capacity, balancing design leadership with project delivery responsibilities.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, coordinated construction documents.
• Interest in professional growth within a mid-sized firm environment with opportunities to take on increasing responsibility.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.

Work Environment

This role operates in a hybrid work environment, with in-office presence required on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and one additional day of the employee’s choice. The office is located in a vibrant seaport area and offers beautiful views and access to a roof deck, creating an inspiring setting for collaboration and design work. The firm is mid-sized, fostering a supportive culture with strong opportunities for growth and professional development. The location is easily accessible by public transit, and parking is validated for those who drive. Work is primarily performed in a modern office environment using Revit and other standard architectural tools, with regular collaboration among project teams and opportunities to engage directly with clients

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
