DevOps Engineer II

DevOps Engineer IICandidates MUST be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI at their own expense prior to starting. This position can work 100% remotely (within the state of WI).Job description:This contractor is required to serve in a DevOps Engineer II role with a primary focus around "Security" for the Department's Unemployment Insurance Systems Modernization project. This project is an effort to systematically and incrementally modernize the DWD Unemployment Insurance systems, and through that effort moving from on-premise to a cloud based infrastructure within a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.Responsibilities:The DevOps Engineer II with a primary focus around "Security" that will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security solutions and practices within our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.Primary objective will be to safeguard our cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and data while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.Working with the Technical Lead for this effort, this role will help in defining the future state for the technology platform and assists in the creation of the roadmap to implement that vision.This contractor will be responsible for ensuring that there is strong communication to both technical and non-technical resources about the technology needs for this effort and the benefits and risks associated with the recommendations.Hardware/Software Environment:Google Cloud Platfrom (GCP)Cloud Security PrinciplesGoogle Cybersecurity Professional CertificateInfrastructure, Application & Data Security principlesPrevious experience providing this service for government a plus, and experience with DWD's environments will be especially valuable.Required Skills:Google Cloud Platform (primary focus "security)Fluent in IT Technologies "best practices" skills and conceptsProject management experienceExp with monitoring and analysis of security events of interest to detect security risks and threats.Top "Must Have" Skills:Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (2 yrs)Cloud Security Principles (2 yrs)Infrastructure, Application & Data Security principles (2 yrs)Analytical/problem solving skills (3 yrs)Excellent oral and written communication skills (3 years)Top Nice-To-Have Skills:Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate (1 yrs)Microsoft 365 Office Products (3 yrs)Project Management knowledge (2 yrs)Implement and enforce security requirements (2 yrs)All service providers submitted with inconsistencies or falsifications in their credentials will be disqualified and DOA Purchasing will be notified.
