Purchasing Associate

Purchasing Associate Mankiewicz Coatings, LLC 1200 Charleston Regional Parkway Charleston, SC 29492, USA The Purchasing Associate will be responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials, packaging, and indirect supplies essential to the company’s production and operational activities. The role involves creating and managing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, monitoring inventory and supplier performance, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to achieve cost savings and process improvements. Plan and purchase raw materials, packaging, and indirect supplies to support production and business operations. Create and manage purchase orders, requisitions, and supplier records using SAP and Onventis. Coordinate with suppliers to confirm pricing, delivery schedules, documentation, and resolve supply issues. Monitor inventory needs and supplier performance to ensure on‑time delivery and cost‑effective purchasing. Review and reconcile invoices, pricing, and purchasing data for accuracy. Maintain purchasing master data, contracts, and supplier information. Collaborate with Production, Logistics, Quality, R&D, and Accounting to support operational needs. Identify cost‑saving opportunities, evaluate alternative suppliers, and recommend process improvements. Prepare purchasing reports and key performance metrics for management. Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers. Experience with SAP software (preferred). Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, maintain a positive attitude, and provide exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and complete assignments within prescribed routines and standard accepted practices. Physical Requirements: Ability to perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other standards, including meeting productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance. Requires frequent walking, standing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
