Mankiewicz Coatings LLC is growing, and we are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and reliable Purchasing Associate to join our team. This full-time, onsite position is located in Charleston, SC. Tasks/Activities Plan and purchase raw materials, packaging, and indirect supplies to support production and business operations. Create and manage purchase orders, requisitions, and supplier records using SAP and Onventis. Coordinate with suppliers to confirm pricing, delivery schedules, documentation, and resolve supply issues. Monitor inventory needs and supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and cost-effective purchasing. Review and reconcile invoices, pricing, and purchasing data for accuracy. Maintain purchasing master data, contracts, and supplier information. Collaborate with Production, Logistics, Quality, R&D, and Accounting to support operational needs. Identify cost‑saving opportunities, evaluate alternative suppliers, and recommend process improvements. Prepare purchasing reports and key performance metrics for management. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Experience with SAP software (preferred). Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint). Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Requires frequent walking, standing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching. Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals. This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
