divh2Clinical Pharmacy Technician/h2pEvaluates and authorizes approval of prior authorization pharmacy requests from prescribers received by telephone and/or facsimile using client clinical criteria./ppEssential Functions:/pulliDetermines appropriateness for medications./liliCommunicates decision to physicians, physicians office staff, medical management staff and/or pharmacists./liliResearches, resolves and documents prior authorization outcomes in pharmacy system./liliCommunicates selected prior authorization criteria, pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives to physicians, physicians office staff, medical management staff and/or pharmacists./liliEscalates requests to Pharmacist when request requires extensive clinical review or denial./liliResearches, resolves and documents physician or client inquiries and grievances and provides verbal or written results to client, prescriber, provider and/or management./liliPerforms other duties as required./li/ulpRequirements/Certifications:/pulliCall center role/liliMust be registered Pharm Tech with State of Utah/liliRight to hire/liliCertification or the ability to obtain PTCB Certification within one year of hire (for conversion to FTE)/liliHigh School/GED (Required)/li/ul/div
