Position Available: In-Home 24-hour Pet Euthanasia Veterinarian

We are currently seeking a dedicated veterinarian with a passion for providing dignified, compassionate end-of-life care and hospice services for pets to join our team. This position involves offering flexible, in-home euthanasia services to support families during a challenging time.

Qualifications:

• Must be a licensed veterinarian with a strong passion for end-of-life care.
• Excellent communication skills and a gentle, empathetic approach are essential.
• Comfortable working independently in clients’ homes.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within your chosen service area.

• Candidates must hold a current Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) degree and an active, unrestricted veterinary license in California.
• Skills in small animal clinical practice, including gentle handling, physical examination, and safe administration of euthanasia medications, are required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to explain procedures clearly and offer empathetic support in emotional situations, are necessary.
• Proficiency in time management, scheduling, and organization to handle multiple home visits and maintain accurate medical records is crucial.
• Comfort with driving throughout the San Diego Area and maintaining a professional mobile work environment is expected.
• Sound ethical judgment, knowledge of local veterinary regulations, and adherence to best practices for controlled substance management are essential.
• Resilience and emotional maturity to work in end-of-life situations while maintaining professional boundaries and self-care are required.
• Experience in hospice or palliative veterinary care, previous in-home practice work, and familiarity with cremation or aftercare services are advantageous.
