Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through virtual sessions, documenting each case from initial consultation to discharge plans.

• Assess clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health to inform accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment plans.
\n
• Develop and implement individualized intervention and recovery strategies for clients, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate therapeutic sessions, both individually and in groups, employing evidence-based techniques that align with best practices in the field.
\n
• Regularly monitor client progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on client feedback and clinical assessments.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

• Maintain clear communication with clients' referring physicians, particularly for those requiring hospitalization, and follow up on treatment outcomes.

• Help educate and support family members and key caregivers in managing the mental and behavioral health challenges of their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client population includes individuals from diverse backgrounds and various age groups, presenting an array of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. As a mental health counselor at Avella, you will leverage your expertise to address these issues, providing culturally sensitive and personalized care that meets the unique needs of each client.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Prior experience in a counseling role, demonstrating a strong foundation in mental health practices.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Proficiency in electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, is desirable.
\n
• Experience addressing underlying physical health issues and co-occurring mental health and addiction disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and guidelines.
\n
• Knowledge of the impact and side effects of psychotropic medications.
\n
• Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, including a compassionate approach towards client interactions.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, reflecting the importance of this role and the qualifications of the applicant.
