Location: Milpitas, CA 95035

Pay Range: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour

Shift: Swing Shift (typically 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM or similar)

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA Inspector - SMT (Swing Shift) to join our Surface Mount Technology manufacturing team. In this critical role, you will ensure the highest quality standards across our electronics manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and test printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) for defects, soldering quality, and component placement accuracy.
• Operate and maintain Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment and other quality control testing devices.
• Perform visual inspections adhering to IPC-A-610 standards and internal quality specifications.
• Document inspection results thoroughly and maintain accurate, detailed quality records.
• Identify defects and effectively communicate findings to production and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment adhering to ESD and safety protocols.
• Meet or exceed daily inspection quotas while maintaining high accuracy standards.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing QA inspection or a similar role.
• Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of SMT assembly processes and PCB inspection techniques.
• Blueprints & Specs: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Physical & Shift Requirements: Ability to work the swing shift, stand for extended periods, and perform detailed visual/repetitive inspection tasks.
• Attributes: Excellent visual acuity, strong attention to detail, and reliable attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

• IPC-A-610 certification (or active willingness to obtain certification).
• Hands-on experience with Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485).
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools and defect classification standards.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment.
