Position: ICU RN Ratios: 1:2 Years of experience required: 2 years First timers accepted: Yes Weekend requirement: yes, varies/flexible Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS (NIH preferred) On‑call requirement: No Float scope: Will float to AAU and MS Block schedule accommodation: To be discussed Local acceptance: No RTO restrictions: Must work 2/3 major holidays Guaranteed Hours 8‑hour and 10‑hour shifts – 40 hours in one workweek 3, 12‑hour shifts – 36 hours in one workweek 4, 12‑hour shifts – 48 hours in one workweek Special Responsibilities Interpretation of dysrhythmias Management of dysrhythmias Multi‑system organ failure care Pre‑ and post‑cardiac catheterization/intervention care IV insulin protocols GI surgery support Chronic/acute renal failure care Arterial line management Blood product administration Central line care/management PICC line management Continuous IV sedation Titration of cardiac drips Titration of vasoactive drips BiPAP and CPAP management Care of ventilated patients High‑flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management Interpretation of ABGs Suctioning and vent management Infection prevention and isolation/PPE use Unit Information Heavy Medical ICU. Some surgical patients. Mainly GI or carotids. Very active 24/7 Cath Lab, which admits into ICU.
