Special Education Teacher | Denver, Colorado

Empower students and make a difference in the classroom by providing vital support as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. This contract role is available across multiple elementary campuses near Denver, CO, with assignments spanning from late July 2026 through the end of May 2027. The district is committed to ensuring an inclusive, welcoming environment for both students and educators, offering strong support and collaboration with a variety of service providers.


What we're looking for:

• Active Colorado Department of Education license with a Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement
• Previous experience in special education settings, preferably with elementary students
• For Affective Needs/Structured Learning roles: background working with students with severe behavioral and cognitive disabilities, expertise in behavioral strategies (CPI, ABA, Denver model), and experience supporting students with autism
• Demonstrated leadership skills leading paraprofessional teams
• Comfortable collaborating with speech, OT, and psychology staff
• Efficient and organized with time-sensitive documentation and credentialing
• Team-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating engaging, individualized learning plans in collaboration with school teams and support personnel
• Leading small, self-contained classrooms or working within station-based schedules
• Employing evidence-based behavioral and instructional strategies to support student growth
• Communicating regularly with families, staff, and paraprofessionals for student progress monitoring
• Completing all district-required documentation and forms in a timely manner

This is a full-time, on-site position-one campus per assignment-at supportive schools that value the contributions of contracted professionals. The district is eager to fill these openings quickly and will move fast following interviews with school leadership and support staff.
