Special Education Teacher in Littleton, CO

Step into a dynamic, collaborative school environment supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year! This contract position offers opportunities across three elementary campuses, each providing a unique experience within the field of special education-ranging from mild/moderate needs to structured classrooms for students with significant behavioral and cognitive disabilities.


Your assignment will be at one school for the duration of the contract, with caseloads tailored to your expertise and preferences. Positions available include Learning Specialist (mild/moderate equivalent), Affective Needs (emotional and behavioral support), and Structured Learning Services (supporting students with cognitive and behavioral disabilities in a small, self-contained setting).


What we're looking for:

• Active Colorado Department of Education Teacher license with a Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement
• Experience working in elementary settings with diverse learners
• Strong knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies; CPI, de-escalation, ABA, or Denver model experience highly valued
• Demonstrated success supporting students with autism and/or significant cognitive disabilities
• Leadership and collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals and interdisciplinary teams
• Quick adaptability to new classroom settings and documentation requirements

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Collaborating closely with related service providers (speech/OT/psychology)
• Leading and supporting paraprofessionals in delivering specialized instruction
• Applying evidence-based interventions and behavioral supports
• Contributing to a positive, inclusive classroom and school community
