Job Description
Our client, a global law firm, is seeking a Patent Agent with a background in the Biological Sciences.
\n \n- \n
- Schedule: Hybrid 3/2 or fully remote anywhere in the U.S. \n
- Billable Hours: 1,600 \n
- Salary: $140k-$190k \n
Responsibilities:
\n• Draft patent applications and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
\n• Analyze scientific or technical documents, including previously published patent documents, to
\nassess an invention or issued patent.
\n• Draft detailed descriptions of inventions in precise legal terms (patent drafts), which form the
\nbasis for patents to be granted by patent offices in various parts of the world.
\n• Conduct interviews with examiners at the USPTO.
\n• Keep up to date with legal developments in the intellectual property field.
\n• Work closely with lawyers to support patent litigation, perform due diligence, and support other legal activities.
\n \nQualifications:
\n•Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in biology, molecular biology, cell biology, biotechnology, bioengineering, biochemistry, immunology, genetics, pharmacology, or an equivalent discipline.
\n• 2+ years of patent prosecution experience.
\n• Law firm experience is required.
\n•Must be admitted to the USPTO.
