Intern Active - Regular part-time Admin Support Farmington, CT, US 6 days ago Requisition ID: 1200 Salary Range: $20.00 To $22.00 Hourly Department: Human Resources Job Title: Human Resources Intern Summary This position is responsible for supporting the Human Resources team by assisting with temporary staffing administration, new hire onboarding, HR data management, file organization, and general HR operations. This role provides hands‑on exposure to a variety of human resources functions while helping ensure continuity of service during periods of employee leave coverage. Essential Functions of the Job The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform the following: Assist with temporary staffing processes, including coordinating with staffing agencies, scheduling interviews, tracking candidate activity, and maintaining recruitment records. Support new hire onboarding activities, including preparing onboarding materials, coordinating orientation schedules, processing paperwork, and ensuring personnel files are complete. Maintain and organize HR files, both electronic and physical, in accordance with company policies and record retention requirements. Enter, update, audit, and report on HR data using HRIS, spreadsheets, and other systems. Assist with employment verifications, background screening administration, and onboarding follow-up activities. Support the HR team with document preparation, filing, data entry, reporting, and other administrative tasks. Help monitor and track employee training, certifications, and required documentation. Maintain high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and company information. Perform all other duties as assigned. Recommended Education and/or Experience Current student pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Schedule Requirements Must be available to work in person in the Farmington office on Mondays and Thursdays . Additional work hours may be flexible based on the student's class schedule and department needs.
