IR Faculty

The Division of Interventional Radiology (IR) in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock, AR is seeking a full‑time faculty member. The IR Division performs more than 9,000 interventional cases per year and is the only kidney and liver transplant program in the state and the only Level 1 trauma center. It also serves as the hub of stroke care and supports world‑renowned programs in myeloma and neurosurgery. The Division consists of five full‑time IR faculty members and four advanced practice providers. Faculty members are required to cover call at UAMS and the adjoining Central Arkansas Veterans Hospital, with call occurring roughly once every seven weeks for a one‑week shift (Friday‑Thursday). Each faculty member has one dedicated clinic day in the Outpatient Surgery Clinic at UAMS and spends one day each week at our IR office‑based lab in Little Rock. During the renovation in 2025‑2026, the Division installed two Canon Alphenix Sky+ ceiling‑mounted angiography systems, an Alphenix 4D CT combined CT/Angiography unit, and a dedicated Canon procedural CT. The office‑based lab also houses Siemens ARTIS Q and a procedural CT. The Division sponsors two ACGME accredited residency programs: Interventional Radiology Integrated and Interventional Radiology Independent. We are approved for five Integrated residency positions and one Independent position. The Diagnostic Radiology residency also offers Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology positions. Faculty candidates must hold an M.D. or equivalent degree, be BE/BC by the ABR, and be licensed or eligible for licensure in Arkansas. Candidates must have completed an ACGME accredited Interventional Radiology Integrated residency or a Diagnostic Radiology residency with Interventional Radiology Independent training.
