Bryn Mawr Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility (SMHRF) in Chicago, IL, has an immediate opening for part time Housekeepers. Rate is $18.00 per hour. Hours and Days Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7a-2:30p OR Sunday, Friday, Tuesday one week then Saturday Sunday the next week hours are 2:30p-10:00p Conveniently located near CTA Red Line -- just south of Bryn Mawr on Kenmore Ave. The primary purpose of this job is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and/or the Director of Housekeeping, to assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner. Responsibilities Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives. Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Assure that water marks are removed from fixtures. Clean windows/mirrors m resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways. Clean floors, including sweeping, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting in accordance with proper safety precautions. Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting. Bryn Mawr Care is accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDHP). Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies personnel. Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc. and maintain the appearance of housekeeping areas. Must perform regular inspections of resident rooms for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties. Be personable with residents, families, and staff in a professional and cooperative manner. Must have compassion, tolerance, and understanding for the people with Mental Illness Must be deemed eligible to work in healthcare by IDPH; may require fingerprinting if not already in the Registry.
