The Collections Paralegal plays a key role in supporting our legal team by managing a high volume of consumer and commercial debt collection cases. With responsibility for document review, legal research, and client communication, this position requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate case management and timely court filings. The Collections Paralegal works primarily with LexisNexis, ProLaw, and Microsoft programs to maintain case files and track deadlines efficiently, all while supporting the team in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze legal documents related to collections cases
• Communicate with clients regarding case status and documentation
• Manage 50-100 collection cases monthly, ensuring all documentation is current
• File legal documents accurately and promptly with courts as required
• Enter and organize data within case management systems
• Maintain organized and up-to-date case files
• Track deadlines and ensure timely responses to court and client requirements
• Draft and prepare legal documents and correspondence under attorney supervision

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience working in collections law

• Experience with legal research and document management
• Knowledge of court filing procedures and debt collection laws

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
