About the Position

Job Title: Critical Care/ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCRN Must-Have: Cardiovascular ICU experience Charge experience preferred Description: The role involves providing care for patients in the Intensive Care Unit. The nurse will manage critically ill patients requiring close monitoring and support. Patients may include those recovering from open heart surgeries, vascular surgeries, and various cardiac conditions. Dysrhythmias will be monitored and managed. Ventilator management is a key responsibility. The nurse will work in a self-scheduling environment with an expected patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:2. Floating between units may be required. Weekend shifts are mandatory every other weekend. All required procedures and protocols must be adhered to. Team collaboration includes working with interdisciplinary support staff. Care will be provided to adults and geriatric populations. Additional duties may involve the use of specific medical equipment. Ongoing education and training related to critical care practices are expected.
