Business Manager

We are seeking a Business Manager that has worked in a school setting preferably. CONTRACT DETAILS Location – Sussex Position – School Business Manager Type of work – School Business Management / Finance and Operations Contract or position start date – ASAP Duration / Likely Duration – Permanent Contract type - Permanent Minimum rate of pay – Competitive, dependent on experience Hours – 8:00am – 4:00pm (may vary), plus attendance at relevant school meetings where required EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS Relevant qualification in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, School Business Management, or equivalent Previous experience working as a School Business Manager, Finance Manager, or similar leadership role Experience managing budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation Strong knowledge of financial regulations, procurement, and compliance Experience within an educational setting is desirable Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year (desirable) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and manage the school's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting Monitor expenditure and ensure value for money across all school services Oversee procurement, HR, Recruitment, contracts, and supplier relationships Support the Headteacher and Governors with financial planning and strategic decision-making Ensure compliance with financial regulations and audit requirements Manage administrative, HR, premises, and operational functions where applicable Contribute to the school's strategic development and improvement plans TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide two professional references covering the last two years #J-18808-Ljbffr
