Mental Health Monitor / Sitter (MHM/S)

Hourly Rate: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour (Days)
Hourly Rate: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour (Nights)

Location: Maricopa County, AZ; Onsite – Behavioral Health / Medical Setting

Position Summary

As a Mental Health Monitor / Sitter (MHM/S), you will support patient safety within a behavioral health or medical setting by monitoring individuals who may be at risk for self-harm or harm to others. This role works closely with licensed nursing staff and medical personnel to provide visual or video observation, accurate documentation, and timely communication regarding patient activity and behavioral changes. Responsibilities

Schedule / Shift

• Shift details: Day and Night shifts available
• Shift length: 12-hour shifts
• Hours per week: 36 hours minimum
• Contract length: Minimum 13-week commitment

Key Duties

• Monitor patients on suicide watch, in therapeutic restraints, or otherwise at risk for self-harm or danger to others
• Perform visual or video observation of patients and report findings to licensed nursing staff
• Accurately complete and process required documentation in a timely manner
• Report and document changes in patient behavior and activity within patient charts
• Follow the direction of medical personnel and support unit operations as assigned

Requirements

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience

• Minimum six months of experience performing clerical or support services in a medical setting preferred
• Experience monitoring multiple screens, observing patients, and reporting findings preferred

Skills

• Strong communication and observation skills
• Ability to accurately document patient activity and behavioral changes
• Ability to remain professional and attentive in fast-paced environments
• Demonstrated ability to follow protocols and directions from medical personnel
