We are is looking for Mental Health Therapists I, II, and III to join our Behavioral Health team. In this role, you'll provide evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and patient-centered therapeutic services to individuals and families with a variety of behavioral health needs.
Depending on your experience and clinical background, you may have the opportunity to work with General Mental Health, Serious Mental Illness (SMI), Birth to Five/Early Childhood Services, Substance Use Disorder (SUD), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or other specialty programs.

What You'll Do
As a Mental Health Therapist, you will:
- Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments, screenings, reassessments, and evaluations.
- Complete biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.
- Develop and update individualized service plans, safety plans, crisis plans, and treatment interventions.
- Provide diagnosis and clinical recommendations within your scope of licensure and credentialing.
- Monitor patient progress, acuity, and treatment outcomes and adjust interventions as clinically appropriate.
- Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, stabilization, and therapeutic support.
- Provide psychoeducation and skill-development services to patients and families.
- Coordinate care with medical providers, psychiatric providers, schools, community agencies, and other support systems.
- Participate in multidisciplinary staffing and treatment planning meetings.
- Facilitate referrals, transitions, discharge planning, and continuity of care.
- Identify and address social determinants of health and barriers affecting patient wellness and treatment engagement.
- Establish strong therapeutic relationships that encourage patient engagement and participation in treatment.
- Engage caregivers, families, and natural supports in treatment planning when clinically appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation.
- Meet applicable productivity, quality, compliance, and documentation standards.
- Participate in supervision, training, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives.
Explore Different Areas of Behavioral Health
Depending on program assignment and organizational needs, therapists may work within one or more specialty areas:
General Mental Health
- Provide outpatient individual, family, and group therapy to children and adults.
- Conduct assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and reassessments.
- Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, stabilization, and care coordination.
Serious Mental Illness (SMI)
- Provide therapy and recovery-oriented services to individuals designated as Seriously Mentally Ill.
- Coordinate care with psychiatric providers, hospitals, RBHA representatives, and community partners.
- Support patients transitioning from hospitalization, crisis episodes, residential treatment, or incarceration.
- Help patients navigate resources related to housing, benefits, transportation, employment, and community support.
- Participate in Adult Recovery Team (ART) meetings and recovery-focused service planning.
Birth to Five / Early Childhood
- Conduct developmental screenings and age-appropriate behavioral health assessments.
- Provide attachment-based, dyadic, and caregiver-focused therapeutic interventions.
- Provide services in homes, childcare settings, preschools, and other natural environments when appropriate.
- Collaborate with caregivers, schools, pediatric providers, and community partners.
Substance Use Disorder (SUD)
- Provide counseling for substance use and co-occurring disorders.
- Complete assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and recovery planning.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling.
- Coordinate care with medical providers supporting medication-assisted treatment.
- Support relapse prevention, recovery maintenance, and community reintegration.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Provide DBT services using evidence-based interventions consistent with the DBT treatment model.
- Conduct assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, risk assessments, and safety planning.
- Facilitate individual therapy and DBT skills-training groups.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, care coordinators, primary care providers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in DBT consultation meetings and maintain fidelity to the treatment model through ongoing training.

Mental Health Therapist I
0–2 years of applied clinical experience at the current licensure level
Ideal for clinicians building their experience and clinical competency. Therapist I staff provide core therapeutic services under routine clinical supervision and continue developing skills in assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, documentation, and clinical intervention.
Mental Health Therapist II
2–5 years of applied clinical experience at the current licensure level
For experienced clinicians who can independently provide therapeutic services with minimal clinical support and manage moderate-to-high complexity patients and families.
Therapist II clinicians may also support newer therapists through onboarding, peer support, and mentorship.
Mental Health Therapist III
5+ years of applied clinical experience at the current licensure level
For advanced clinicians who can serve as clinical resources and subject matter experts while working with highly complex, high-risk, or specialty populations.
Therapist III clinicians may provide mentorship, coaching, peer consultation, program development, workflow improvement, and support for specialty services.
What You Need
Required Education
- Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Addiction Counseling, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
Required Experience
Experience is based on applied clinical experience at the employee's current licensure level:
- Therapist I: 0–2 years
- Therapist II: 2–5 years
- Therapist III: 5+ years
Required Licensure & Credentials
- Active Associate-Level or Independent-Level license in good standing through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, including applicable licenses such as:
- LAC
- LMSW
- LAMFT
- LAAC
- LPC
- LCSW
- LMFT
- LIAC
- or equivalent
- Must meet eligibility requirements for Behavioral Health Professional (BHP)designation.
- Must meet all applicable Arizona licensure, certification, and credentialing requirements.
- Must practice within the scope of applicable licensure and credentialing.
- BLS certification , or ability to obtain within 5 days of starting.
- Arizona Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card , or ability to obtain within 5 days of starting.
