Food Service Manager - Mendota Mental Health Institute The Department of Health Services (DHS), Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI) isrecruiting for a Food Service Manager . This position’s primary shift will be 7:00am-3:30pm. This position is the main early relief responsible for covering the 5:00am-1:30 shift when that manager is off. On occasion, this position may also fill in for the 10:15am-6:45pm shift. This position will be assigned to work the following additional shifts as well: One early weekend shift from 5:00am to 1:00pm per month. One late weekend shift from 10:45am to 6:45pm per month. MMHI is located on the north side of Madison and offers a beautiful campus environment, convenient free parking and an onsite workout facility. MMHI is an inpatient psychiatric facility, with one outpatient program, and is an integral part of the entire Wisconsin mental health service delivery system. As the Food Service Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating functions of the Food and Nutrition Services Department. Duties include: providing managerial, supervisory and liaison services in the department and with other departments as required. maintaining high standards of sanitation, safety, and good housekeeping. ordering supplies, preparing purchase requisitions, and maintaining inventory reports. Salary Information The starting pay for this position is between $31.00 and $34.50 per hour (approximately $64,400 and $71,700 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current or former state employees is set based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction.This position is in pay schedule/range 81/04. All applicants will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled. All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by MMHI or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date. DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. This position has physical requirements which may include but are not limited to lifting up to 50 pounds, twisting, bending, crawling, crouching, and climbing ladders. This position requires the ability to drive a State vehicle.In order to become authorized to drive a State vehicle, you must meet the requirements of theStateofWisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy, which are: Must have a valid driver’s license, Must have minimum of two years non-probationary licensed driving experience with a regular (Class D) driver’s license; Must be 18 years of age. Additionally, your driving record MUST NOT reflect any of the following conditions: Three or more moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the past two years, Operating While Intoxicated (OWI)/Driving Under the Influence (DUI) citation within the past 12 months, Suspension or revocation of driver’s license. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following: Experience serving in a supervisor or leadership role in food service (e.g., scheduling, training, mentoring, coaching, evaluating performance, disciplining, etc.). Experience providing customer service in a food service role. Well-qualified candidates will also have one or more of the following: Experience working with computer programs related to food service operations (e.g., nutrition analysis, menu preparation, diet orders, etc.). Experience with food purchasing, quality control, and inventory control. Experience or education with food production and service for specialized/therapeutic diets in a healthcare setting.
