Mission: To support the firm's core accounting, audit, and tax services for a diverse client base by preparing financial documents and tax returns. Tech Stack: various accounting software What You'll Actually Do Audit & Review Support: Assist in the execution of audits, reviews, and compilations, meticulously adhering to firm methods, policies, and procedures. Tax Return Preparation: Prepare various tax returns for individuals, corporations, trusts, and partnerships, including necessary extensions, and conduct tax research. Corporate Accounting: Complete corporate accounting engagements, prepare comprehensive financial statements, and perform bookkeeping tasks for businesses and non-profits. Client Communication: Prepare client correspondence and communicate effectively and responsively with both clients and fellow employees. Engagement Management: Organize and set up engagement binders, and prepare detailed workpapers for business income tax returns. The Must-Haves Background: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. This is an early career role, requiring an understanding of the basic principles of accounting. Experience: One or more years of related experience. Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, enabling clear and timely interaction with clients and colleagues. A strong understanding of US tax regulations, including knowledge of state and federal tax form processes for accurate preparation. Demonstrated ability to prioritize daily tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet timely obligations for diverse clients. A high degree of personal integrity when handling sensitive financial information, coupled with knowledge of accounting processes and advanced mathematical skills. Bonus: Experience consulting tax handbooks or other printed materials to determine proper procedures for challenging returns. Skilled in using various accounting software and experienced in troubleshooting common accounting program problems.
