We are partnering with a growing national distribution company that is looking to add a strong Senior Accountant to its Accounting & Finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting, working with inventory, supporting month-end close, and being part of a company with a large operational footprint.

In this role, you will support key accounting operations, reconciliations, reporting, audit preparation, and cross-functional projects while working closely with accounting and finance leadership.

Responsibilities

• Post journal entries and accruals
• Prepare balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset accounts and roll-forward schedules
• Maintain capital lease ledger entries and roll-forward schedules
• Review and record employee and contract labor payroll journals
• Assist with month-end close activities, reporting, data requests, and audit support
• Prepare monthly balance sheet, income statement, and budget variance analyses
• Partner with internal departments to research and resolve discrepancies
• Generate month-end reports when needed
• Review daily accounting issues and work with the team to resolve them timely
• Document unresolved issues and escalate to leadership as needed
• Support year-end audit preparation and completion
• Assist with additional accounting projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required
• 3+ years of Senior Accountant experience
• Experience with inventory cost accounting required
• Understanding of accounting for manufacturing required
• Distribution, supply chain, or inventory-based business experience preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Experience with accounting/ERP software required
• Microsoft Navision or Dynamics 365 Business Central experience a plus
• Strong analytical, mathematical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments and levels of leadership

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based and requires regular use of a computer, phone, and standard office equipment. Occasional lifting up to 10 lbs. may be required.
