Speech Language Pathologist / SLP Specialist
Transform Lives through Communication in the Charming City of Lexington – Join Our Team as a Speech Language Pathologist!
Imagine embarking on a career that not only enhances lives but empowers others to express themselves fully. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the delightful city of Lexington, your journey will involve more than just addressing communication and swallowing disorders. You will play a crucial role in restoring confidence, fostering connections, and unlocking the potential of individuals ranging from young children mastering their first words to older adults regaining their independence.
This position offers a unique blend of opportunities to work with patients of all ages in a dynamic environment that combines outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient needs. Whether you have a passion for helping toddlers grow linguistically, assisting adults with neurogenic disorders, or aiding the elderly in cognitive rehabilitation, you'll discover a fulfilling professional life here.
Conduct assessments for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing both standardized tests and observational methods.
Create customized treatment programs tailored to meet both short-term goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
Engage in direct speech therapy interventions focused on areas such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and caregivers, to develop integrated care strategies.
Educate patients and families to ensure progress continues beyond clinical visits.
Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, maintaining seamless care throughout the healing process.
Keep accurate and timely documentation, adhering to both state and federal regulations as well as organization guidelines.
Stay abreast of the latest developments in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not already ASHA-certified.
A current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) strongly preferred.
A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Expertise in evidence-based therapy techniques suitable for all age groups, with a thorough knowledge of speech, language, and swallowing disorders both developmental and acquired.
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and diverse care teams.
Flexibility in adapting therapy strategies to accommodate varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
Competitive compensation that reflects your experience.
Flexible work schedules promoting a healthy work-life balance and a diverse range of cases.
Opportunities for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay included.
Comprehensive health insurance options, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
Support for continuing education and professional growth.
A collaborative, team-centered work environment that prioritizes quality care and continuous learning.
In this role, you won't just provide therapy — you will become an integral part of a mission that seeks to amplify voices, enhance communication, and create joy through the simplest and most profound acts: understanding and being understood.
Your colleagues will quickly feel like family, within a setting that promotes partnership rather than rivalry. Every patient has their own unique narrative; we will look to you to help guide how that story unfolds.
Life in Lexington embodies a unique charm that harmoniously blends tradition and innovation, with a splash of Southern hospitality. Surrounded by picturesque horse farms and scenic parks, this area invites you to enjoy the tranquility of nature while engaging in a vibrant cultural scene.
Families take time together in lush parks, delighting in picnics while food lovers explore local eateries serving everything from delightful BBQ to upscale dining experiences that celebrate local ingredients. With numerous events that highlight art, music, and local heritage, the community thrives on creativity that brings residents together.
For professionals in the area, the perks extend beyond lifestyle — the lack of a state income tax, affordable living conditions, and an expanding healthcare landscape create an atmosphere where your career can flourish alongside your personal life.
Whether you are a new graduate eager to embark on your career path or an experienced clinician ready to embrace new challenges, Lexington provides a nurturing ground for both personal and professional growth.
We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist who is driven not only by the desire for excellent outcomes but also by a heartfelt empathy. You might be someone who gazes at a timid child and envisions them communicating with confidence, or you could be a committed caregiver who sees the potential behind the words of a stroke survivor.
You may be specialized in pediatrics wanting to explore adult services, or you could be seasoned in neuro rehabilitation eager to begin working with younger populations.
If you are passionate and ready to work with compassion while leading with your skill, we would love for you to join us!
If you feel that speech is much more than just sounds, and therapy extends beyond routine tasks — if you believe in forming trust before approaching goals and emphasize the joy in every word communicated — then this opportunity could very well be your next career milestone.
Join a community that values communication, connection, and the courage to start anew. Apply now and bring your unique voice to our team, helping others find theirs too.
