Client Service Manager

What You’ll Be Doing As a Client Service Manager, you will support Private Wealth relationship management efforts by delivering exceptional service to CIBC Private Wealth clients. You will work with Relationship Managers, custodians and the operations department to create a seamless, integrated client experience. Key Responsibilities Provide high‑touch, high‑quality service to Private Wealth Management (PWM) clients, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism. Oversee new account onboarding, including account openings, funding facilitation, and cost‑basis entry. Handle general account inquiries and maintenance requests (transactions, holdings, balances, charitable gifts, address changes, tax reporting). Manage client transactions such as money movements (checks, ACH, wires, journal transfers), quarterly tax payments, charitable gift requests, and annual IRA contributions/RMDs. Process address changes and other account updates accurately within required timelines; update portfolio asset‑allocation schedules. Research and resolve client inquiries promptly and professionally, anticipating and addressing client needs. Assist Relationship Managers with preparing materials for client presentations, meetings and reviews. Support portfolio maintenance and assist with trading on accounts. Participate in the training of less‑experienced staff as requested by management. Support additional duties as requested by Relationship Managers or Firm Management. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree. 5+ years of financial‑industry experience in a client‑service role, preferably with high‑net‑worth clients and trust accounts. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple advisors and clients simultaneously. Self‑motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with colleagues. Excellent written and oral communication skills; capable of developing professional relationships with co‑workers and clients. Fundamental understanding of investments and capital markets. Adaptable to a rapidly changing business and technology environment; quick to learn proprietary software and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel; familiarity with Schwab and Fidelity platforms preferred. Compensation & Benefits Expected salary range: $90,000–$110,000 (SanFrancisco, CA market). Eligible for the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may include a discretionary bonus component.
