A&P Mechanic III – Hagerstown, MD

Pay Rate: $48.28/hour
Contract: 12 months
Location: Hagerstown, Maryland

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic III to support aircraft repair, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and component replacement. This role requires strong knowledge of aircraft airframe and/or powerplant systems and the ability to perform maintenance in accordance with FAA, safety, and applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform aircraft repairs, maintenance, inspections, and component replacements.
• Diagnose mechanical and functional issues using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and replace defective or faulty aircraft components.
• Interpret and work from technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and technical publications.
• Ensure all maintenance and repairs comply with applicable national and international standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized hangar or work environment.
• Perform aviation maintenance duties in a safety-sensitive environment.
• May be required to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• May work different shifts, weekends, overtime, and travel as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active, current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Typically 4+ years of relevant aviation maintenance experience .
• Strong experience repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting aircraft airframes and/or engines.
• Ability to interpret aircraft technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must provide and maintain personal tools in good working condition .
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to pass and maintain Class 3 physical requirements , including a hearing test.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.

Preferred Qualifications

• FAA Repair Station experience.
• Quality Assurance experience.
• Aerospace and Defense industry experience.
• U.S. Department of Defense or military aviation experience.
• Familiarity with FAR/DFARS regulations.

Physical & Work Environment

• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs/steps, and repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Requires good vision, including close and distance vision, depth perception, and color recognition.
• Requires the ability to distinguish different tones and volumes.
• Exposure to outdoor elements, including hot/cold temperatures, rain, snow, and sunlight.
• Exposure to aircraft fumes, hazardous chemicals/materials, and loud noise.
• May involve inspecting, handling, or working around hazardous materials, aircraft, equipment, and machinery.
