Preventive Maintenance Tech-Diesel Engines

Seeking a 2nd Shift Preventive Maintenance Technician in JASPER, GA: Oversees comprehensive vehicle reliability by conducting bumper-to-bumper inspections, fluid/filter services, and subsystem overhauls (brakes, air lines, hydraulics). Utilizes ECM diagnostic software to rapidly isolate mechanical and electrical fault codes, ensuring strict DOT compliance and zero unexpected downtime.  

salary: $48,000 - $56,000 per year

Responsibilities

Routine Inspections

• Executed comprehensive, bumper-to-bumper vehicle safety and operational checks using standardized inspection checklists, ensuring 100% DOT compliance and preventing unexpected breakdowns.

Fluid & Filter Services

• Performed high-volume preventive maintenance—including engine oil replacements, fuel/air filter changes, and cooling system flushes—extending engine lifespan and maximizing fuel efficiency across the fleet.

System Checks

• Inspected and overhauled critical vehicle subsystems (brakes, air lines, suspensions, steering, and hydraulics), identifying early wear and tear to maintain strict safety standards and optimal operating condition.

Diagnostics

• Diagnosed complex mechanical and electrical issues by analyzing Engine Control Module (ECM) fault codes with advanced computer diagnostic tools, cutting troubleshooting time and streamlining repairs.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 10 hours at one time
