Business Project Manager ERP Implementation

Job Summary:

The Senior Business Project Manager (ERP Implementation) leads the statewide transition from a legacy accounting system to Oracle Fusion. This hybrid role focuses on strategic project management, business process analysis, and change management to ensure a smooth operational cutover and post-implementation stabilization without software configuration. Responsibilities:

• Serve as the central coordinator between client leadership, OIT, OMB, vendors, and the State client team.
• Maintain risk registers, project schedules, issue logs, and executive readiness scorecards.
• Audit, optimize, and map fiscal workflows into a Fiscal Operations Process Library.
• Document systems, databases, and spreadsheets to identify technical gaps and data conversion risks.
• Inventory and update mission-critical fiscal reports aligned with the new Chart of Accounts.
• Design and implement a Change Management and Communications Plan.
• Author user manuals and build the Future-State Fiscal Operations Manual.
• Administer role-specific training programs.
• Coordinate staff participation in testing phases and manage deployment cutover protocols.
• Provide hands-on stabilization support (Hypercare) through the first full fiscal year close post go-live.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8 to 10 years of experience managing complex business transformations and enterprise-level ERP financial implementations.
• Expertise in process mapping tools such as Visio or Lucidchart.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional project management skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Master's degree or relevant executive experience.

Special Considerations:

• Role does not involve software configuration but focuses on auditing and preparing internal processes.
• Hands-on support required during stabilization phase post-implementation.

Scheduling:

• Contract position for 9 months with possibility of extension.
• Hybrid work model: 3 days in-office (Trenton, NJ), 2 days remote.
• Interview process includes both webcam and in-person interviews.
