Job TitlePay Range: $22.24hr - $24.00hrRequirement/Must Have:Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.Minimum of 6 months’ work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.High School Diploma or GED.MMR, Varicella, TB, and flu vaccinations are required.Color vision test is required.Responsibilities:Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data and decontamination, and update patient information.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Properly explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection (e.g., urine or fecal) in a clear and courteous manner.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Fully understand all physician orders.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples according to required temperature and place samples in appropriate collection containers.Accurately label and follow specific protocols for transport to maintain specimen integrity.Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department trainings.Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.Skills:Phlebotomy.Venipuncture.Specimen Processing.Centrifugation.Data Entry.OSHA Compliance.Microsoft Office Suite.Qualification And Education:2-4 years of experience.
