Senior Investment Analyst, Multi-Asset Research

The Role We require a Senior Analyst to join our equity team within Multi‑Asset Research (MAR). This role reports to the Head of Equity Research and works closely with the MAR and IM teams. The Senior Analyst will focus on producing world‑class proprietary equity market investment research to support the management of the group’s investment strategies. The role is based in our Chicago office. Responsibilities Collaborate with multi‑asset research colleagues, portfolio managers, and equity research colleagues to formulate security‑ and market‑level investment views, supporting equity strategies within multi‑asset portfolios. Author actionable investment theses grounded in capital‑cycle analysis, industry competitive dynamics, valuation assessment, and associated fundamental risks. Monitor equity market opportunities and keep portfolio managers apprised of developing opportunities for consideration inside our multi‑asset portfolios. Assist with the ongoing enhancement of equity valuation frameworks in collaboration with the quantitative research team. Build and maintain robust and efficient investment processes and models. Produce equity market thought leadership for both internal and external client demands. Requirements 5+ years of progressive hands‑on fundamental equity research experience with an understanding of the drivers of forward‑looking stock/equity market returns. Passion for investing, markets, in‑depth fundamental investment research, and supporting investment strategies and offerings. Alignment with Morningstar’s philosophy and approach to investing. Demonstrated expertise in equity security‑level valuation models. Excellent critical thinking skills with a focus on industry and company analysis. Outstanding oral and written communication skills, with the ability to produce high quality written materials and to communicate complex ideas clearly and succinctly. CFA designation or a post‑graduate designation is preferable. Compensation & Benefits Morningstar’s compensation structure is comprised of base salary and target incentives. Total Cash Compensation Range: $147,550.00 – $226,233.33 (inclusive of annual base salary and target incentive).
