Work Schedule Days: Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work. Hours: Variable. Position Summary The Senior Mobile Diesel Technician will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced diagnostics for light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. The role serves as a lead technician on jobsites, providing consultancy to customers and junior technicians while meeting company performance metrics. Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and related repairs for vehicles in the field. Make minor adjustments and perform repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, steering systems, engines (gas & diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck systems using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other test instruments. Road‑test vehicles to confirm proper operation and identify malfunctions. Use sound judgment to evaluate alternatives and determine problem causes. Manage parts inventory on the company‑issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate the service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre‑/post‑trip inspections. Communicate effectively with clients to assess their needs and resolve issues. Prioritize tasks, allocating time efficiently, and manage concurrent assignments independently. Employ hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks as required. Document work in Repair Orders, upload images of parts used and findings via the TRAIT application. Complete DOT and other required forms accurately and on time. Operate independently and manage a daily schedule. Maintain high productivity within standard repair times. Source parts from approved local and national vendors as needed. Communicate with management for repair estimate approvals and purchase order details. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Requirements High School Diploma or GED; 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment. Possess a personal set of hand tools necessary for the job. OEM training and certifications are preferred. Complete all company‑required training. Must pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical, or provide a valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining. Must be at least 21 years old. Valid driver’s license required; candidate must maintain a Driver Qualification File.
