This role involves providing advanced care for critically ill adult patients across a variety of complex diagnoses, including trauma, cardiac conditions, substance abuse, sepsis, and respiratory distress. The ICU has a capacity of 33 beds with an average daily census of 16, requiring a dedicated and experienced registered nurse to support patient care during night shift hours. Job Details: Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week. Shift times include 0630-1830 and 1830-0630. Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse, BLS certification, ACLS certification, NIHSS certification, minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, at least 1 year in critical care setting. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working in trauma, cardiac, stroke, or vascular cases is advantageous. Float: Float rotation may be required; typically to PCU, occasionally to MedSurg, with patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5 on float. Additional Information: Candidates must have a valid drivers license submitted at the time of application, as it is used to ensure adherence to the radius rule (50 miles). Nail policies exclude artificial nails for patient care staff. Open book skills exam on orientation days, requiring at least 90% to pass. RTO requests are limited to seven days or less within the 13-week contract and must be submitted upfront. The unit requires Triage Level 2 trauma certification, and the shift requires a minimum of two holiday work obligations within the contract period.
