We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to support purchasing operations for a organization in Baltimore, Maryland. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who is organized, responsive, and comfortable handling a high volume of procurement activity with accuracy. The person in this role will help move requests through the purchasing process, coordinate with internal partners and vendors, and resolve payment-related questions in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit requisitions for goods and services in alignment with department needs and procurement procedures.

• Evaluate incoming purchase requests to confirm supporting details are accurate, complete, and ready for processing.

• Record receipts for completed deliveries and services to maintain accurate purchasing documentation.

• Respond to questions regarding supplier invoice payment status and help investigate outstanding issues.

• Work closely with procurement staff and Accounts Payable teams to support smooth coordination across the purchasing cycle.

• Review and process procurement requests submitted by internal stakeholders while ensuring timely follow-through.

• Research discrepancies or transaction issues and take appropriate steps to resolve them efficiently.

• Maintain productive working relationships with vendors and internal contacts to support day-to-day procurement operations.

• Experience handling requisitions, purchase requests, or purchase order processing in a detail-oriented environment.
• Working knowledge of procurement operations and related documentation for goods and services.
• Familiarity with invoice tracking, payment status follow-up, and coordination with Accounts Payable.
• Ability to review requests carefully and identify missing information, inconsistencies, or errors.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Effective communication skills for working with vendors, procurement personnel, and internal departments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing multiple requests and daily transactions.
