Activities Assistant

Job TitleResponsible for assisting in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing and directing the activity programs to ensure that the spiritual development, emotional, recreational and social needs of the residents are maintained on an individual basis.DutiesSet up and carry out activities as planned by Activity DirectorClean Activity room between activitiesGo to apartments to invite residents to activities and assist in getting them back to apartmentsAttend Activity Planning meeting with Activity DirectorAssist volunteers with activitiesAssist with cleaning the busTransportation as neededObserve residents for changes in condition and report to Activity DirectorContinue all activities in the Absence of the DirectorHelp with putting up and taking down of holiday themesNotify care staff of nursing needsAttend all staff meetingsEducation and ExperienceMust be able to speak, read and write in the English language.Must possess, as a minimum, a high school degree or equivalent.One (1) year experience in working with elderly desired.Should have creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts and games.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
