Staff Accountant II

TeamBuilders is recruiting for an experienced Staff Accountant II to join a local business in the Fresno, CA area.

The Staff Accountant II opportunity is being offered on a full-time, direct hire basis Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with some overtime required on occasion. Company offers an excellent benefits and salary package of up to $80K yearly, depending on experience.

As a Staff Accountant II, you will support the day-to-day operations of the finance and accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and helping the company maintain compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant II:

• General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger entries, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded timely and accurately.
• Month-End Close: Support the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and assisting in financial reporting.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing internal financial reports, balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other reports as needed for management.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable, including managing aging reports and following up on outstanding balances.
• Compliance & Audit Support: Assist with audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Tax Preparation Assistance: Support the preparation of sales tax, property tax, and other tax-related filings, as well as providing documentation for year-end tax filings.
• Process Improvements: Contribute to process improvements and automation efforts to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounting department.
• Other Duties as Assigned: Provide support to the finance team as needed, including special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis.

Key Qualifications of the Staff Accountant II:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

 

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a corporate accounting environment.
• Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is highly preferred.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration and reporting.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data responsibly.  

Certifications: CPA or working toward CPA (preferred but not required).
