Tech - Sterile Processing Tech

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical services by decontaminating, sterilizing, and assembling surgical instruments and equipment. This role involves working across multiple sterile supply departments to ensure proper sterilization and availability of instrumentation for surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Decontaminate, process, assemble, sterilize, and store surgical instrumentation and medical equipment.
• Prepare and assemble case carts for surgical procedures, ensuring accuracy and readiness.
• Operate Olympus OER Washers and other sterilization equipment efficiently.
• Rotate between Sterile Processing & Distribution areas within the CT Tower, Main OR-University Tower, and Musculoskeletal Institute.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet departmental standards and deadlines.
• Fulfill on-call, weekend, and holiday coverage as part of emergency staffing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Must have 4-5 years of hospital experience in sterilization, decontamination, and instrument processing.
• Credentialed as CR-CST or CBSPD certified.
• Capable of running Olympus OER Washers and handling case carts efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies, and sterilization protocols.
• Able to work standing for extended periods and identify various surgical instruments accurately.
• Must be vaccinated for COVID-19 and flu vaccines, with medical or religious declinations accepted.
