Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Specialist, Speech Language Pathologist.

In this role, the successful candidate Assists the Director in the coordination of patient care, training programs, development and procedures/protocol and outreach/marketing for Speech-Language Pathology Department. Demonstrates an understanding of the goals of the departments and establishes objectives by which the assigned staff will accomplish them.

Job Responsibilities:

-Assess and treat patients with a variety of medical diagnoses, cognitive-communication and swallowing impairments with an etiology in cardiac and pulmonary dysfunction.

-Collaboration and coordination of patient care with the intra professional medical team, other rehabilitation specialists and patient families

-Provide education regarding communication and swallowing disorders, specific and appropriate diagnostic tests and results and community resources available to patients upon discharge.

-Counsel caregivers in their adjustment to the patient’s swallowing and communication impairments as it relates to diagnosis and recovery.

-Attend patient care conference

-Assist with patient management, staff orientation, and performance improvement to enhance clinical programming, educational endeavors, and innovation and technology.

-Clinical liaison for optimal outcome management in acute inpatient rehabilitation.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Master's Degree with a major in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited University, ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence , and a New York State license in Speech Language Pathology. __ Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation

Required Licenses: Speech Pathologist Lic-NYS, ASHA Cert

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $76,721.83 - $121,900.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
