Business Development Representative

About the Role As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at BlackLine, you will develop demand for our solutions and convey the platform’s value to prospective clients. You will undergo an intensive six‑week training program to acquire the skills needed to start qualifying leads immediately and build a strong foundation for success within our broader sales organization. Key Responsibilities Qualify marketing‑generated leads from campaigns, website programs, conferences, and other channels. Discover and qualify meetings with prospective clients through outbound prospecting into target contacts and organizations. Work with prospects to understand and align their needs with BlackLine solutions. Handle software capability questions during the sales qualification process. Achieve and exceed weekly/monthly/quarterly metrics (appointments, qualified leads, new contacts, etc.). Assist and coordinate with marketing campaigns as needed. Manage prospecting status, maintain data integrity, and provide weekly forecasting in Salesforce.com and Outreach. What You’re Bringing Self‑starter mindset, highly motivated, and driven to achieve goals. High energy, comfortable in a fast‑paced environment, and able to think on the fly during conversations. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Commitment to professionalism and solid organizational skills. Willingness to learn, be coached, and adapt easily to change. Preferred Experience At least one year of sales or cold‑calling experience. Some accounting knowledge (CPA eligibility or audit experience). Benefits & Compensation Salary Range: $45,600.00 – $57,000.00 Pay Transparency Statement: Placement within this range depends on prior experience, skill set, and geographic location.
