Responsible for the accurate receiving, handling, storage, and shipment of materials and products within a manufacturing and warehouse environment. This role includes verifying inbound and outbound shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and other documentation; loading and unloading trucks using forklifts and other material-handling equipment; inspecting shipments for damage or discrepancies; processing inventory transactions within the computer system; maintaining stock levels of packaging and shipping supplies; packaging, labeling, and preparing materials for shipment; building custom shipping crates using basic carpentry skills; delivering materials to designated locations throughout the facility; communicating inventory or shipment issues to appropriate teams; adhering to all safety and 5S standards; and operating company vehicles as needed for supplier or post office runs.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material-handling equipment.

• Inspect shipments for damage or discrepancies.

• Process inventory transactions within the computer system.

• Maintain stock levels of packaging and shipping supplies.

• Package, label, and prepare materials for shipment.

• Build custom shipping crates using basic carpentry skills.

• Deliver materials to designated locations throughout the facility.

• Communicate inventory or shipment issues to appropriate teams.

• Adhere to all safety and 5S standards.

• Operate company vehicles as needed for supplier or post office runs.

Essential Skills

• Experience in shipping and receiving.

• Inventory control and documentation skills.

• Proven attendance and reliability.

• Ability to read simple instructions and memos.

• Math calculation skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

• Proficiency with pallet jack and forklift operations.

• Valid Driver’s License.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Shipping/Receiving experience preferred.

• Forklift certification is a bonus, but not a requirement.

• High School Diploma or Equivalency.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belvidere, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
