Operations & Maintenance Technician

The Operations & Maintenance Technician is responsible for servicing, repairing, maintaining, and monitoring building systems to ensure optimal performance. This role involves working on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The technician will support mission-critical operations and contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient facility environment.

Experience:

• Requires a two-year technical degree, relevant experience, or completion of an apprenticeship program.
• In-depth knowledge of maintenance fundamentals for service and repairs.
• Experience working on mission-critical projects.
• Working knowledge of BMS/BAS systems.
• Knowledge of OSHA codes and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Service, repair, maintain, monitor, and adjust HVAC systems within allowable parameters.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs for HVAC systems, heat exchangers, chiller pumps, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, plumbing systems, and building automation systems.
• Provide direction and training to less experienced maintenance technicians.
• Plan, select, and lay out materials required for service, repair, and preventive maintenance work.
• Work from building drawings, schematics, equipment specifications, and verbal instructions.
• Operate hand and power tools, equipment, and lift equipment as required.
• Generate requisitions for supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to handle emergency situations.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Perform other duties as required.

Skills:

• Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools and lift equipment.
• Familiarity with software systems such as Procore and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Professional attitude with strong ethics and integrity.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred.

Qualification And Education:

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent relevant experience or apprenticeship.
• Universal EPA Refrigeration Certification.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to pass background check and interview process.
• Physically capable of performing maintenance tasks including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and special maintenance events as needed.
