Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students in a specialized education environment. This contract paraprofessional position is based at a center focused on delivering comprehensive support to students with the most significant behavioral and developmental needs, from elementary through high school age. The assignment starts on September 8, 2026, and continues through June 10, 2027, working 32.5 hours weekly, Monday through Friday.
Key Qualifications:
- Must qualify as a Highly Qualified Paraprofessional in Minnesota via one of the following:
- Successful completion of the MN Para Educator Exam (passing score required)
- A minimum of 60 completed college credits, with official transcripts (not diplomas or degrees, which do not suffice)
- Experience or comfort working with students presenting severe disabilities and high behavioral needs
- Willingness to support students of any age, with an opportunity to express age group preference
- Readiness to assist with toileting and personal care tasks as part of daily duties
- Must submit a current resume and, as applicable, Highly Qualified documentation or transcripts to be considered
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct classroom and individual support for students in a setting where they receive special education services all day
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior strategies
- Deliver personal care and support, including toileting assistance, as needed
- Monitor and report on student progress and behaviors in a collaborative environment
- Build trusting, supportive relationships with students and staff
