AR/Billing Specialist

Extension is seeking a Billing Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity with one of our clients located in Milwaukee, WI.

About the Opportunity

Join a well-established nonprofit healthcare organization that has been serving the community for over 85 years. This role offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative accounting team while supporting critical billing and accounts receivable functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Submit billing to various funding sources accurately and on time.
• Review and correct billing batches prior to submission.
• Upload and process billing files through completion.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure efficient workflows.
• Maintain accurate records through filing and document scanning.
• Provide backup support to other Accounts Receivable team members as needed.
• Assist with additional accounting and billing projects as assigned.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of Accounts Receivable or billing experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field is a plus.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Experience working with insurance companies, funders, Medicare, Medicaid, or third-party payers is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality.
• Healthcare industry experience is helpful but not required.

Salary Information

• $18 - $20 per hour
