Position Overview

We're seeking a dedicated and dependable Childcare Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks to children from infancy through school age. This role is vital to the health and daily rhythm of our center and is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their work, and finds joy in serving children.

No professional kitchen experience? No worries!

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve simple, child-friendly meals and snacks that meet our daily menus and nutritional guidelines.
• Ensure all food is prepared and served following proper food safety and sanitation procedures, so we can keep our little ones safe and healthy.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and cheerful kitchen space that's a joy to be in.
• Receive, store, and inventory food and kitchen supplies with ease.
• Assist with menu planning and communicate supply needs to our leadership team, so we can keep our kitchen running smoothly.
• Step into a classroom setting to support teachers and children when needed, whether it's during transitions, breaks, or staff absences.
• Build positive relationships with children and staff while modeling professionalism and kindness, so we can create a warm and welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Basic food prep and kitchen safety skills; food handler’s certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to pass all required background screenings and fingerprinting.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Willingness to jump in wherever needed with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Love for children and a commitment to creating a safe and nurturing atmosphere.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs., stand for extended periods, and move quickly throughout the facility.
